About This Botanical Picture: Last of the Leaves is a nature photograph that was created a few years ago, late in the autumn season. The trees were almost barren and getting ready for winter; there was one small tree along the hiking trail that had one last leaf clinging to it. The bold red colors stood out against the pale blue sky and dark brown bark of the surrounding trees.
